Had a lovely stay at this place. The rooms were lovely and the whole place very warm, cosy, and beautifully fitted out with great attention to detail. Tony and his partner, were great hosts. Agna and Dave looked after us in the retaurant.Food was as fresh as could be with the fish caught daily and cooked to perfection.Would highly recommend. Nick & Kate Hanley
My husband and I had a splendid stay here! We had the Iona room with its lovely bathroom and super comfortable bed. The room was large and so welcoming. Breakfast each morning was delicious and we dined in the restaurant two nights. All of our meals were delicious and served with care. The lodge is well placed for exploring the island and each morning Tony helped us plan our day out and about. The entire team at the lodge is warm, friendly, and helpful. I’d love the chance to stay here again!
Disclaimer: we didn’t stay here, only stopped by for dinner but it was one of the best meals we had during our 2+ weeks in Scotland. The menu is small, but each dish was cooked to perfection - fresh ingredients and very flavourful. The desserts and cheese board were also good too. Tony (the owner) had a great wine list and gave exceptional recommendations. The small dining room allows for an intimate dining experience and personable interactions with the super friendly staff.
Dinner only but would come back to stay! We happened upon Pennygate Lodge when we left our hotel in search of something better to eat - and we were not disappointed. The menu selection is small but perfectly formed, with options for all - I am pescatarian so I am always delighted by perfectly cooked fish main course. The lady looking after us was attentive but not overbearing and the restaurant was quiet on the day we were there. The wine selection was decent and the whole meal was, we felt, very good value for money, particularly when compared with the quality and price of the food at the hotel we stayed in. I could not recommend this place more highly for food and hope to come back to stay some time soon.
Beautifully decorated home with wonderful breakfasts and dinners. The gardens out front are exquisite and the view of the water lovely. It's conveniently situated to walk to town, the ferry dock, and to explore the island from.
We loved every part of the Pennygate Lodge. Tony and Fiona are very friendly and helpful. Tony helped us with a car issue which the rental company failed to assist us with. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and luxurious. The bathroom and especially the shower are exquisitely designed. The restaurant meals were excellent. The lodge is conveniently located next to the ferry terminal. We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing three night stay.We would highly recommend this to anyone staying on the Isle of Mull.
We stayed at Pennygate Lodge in Craignure on Isle of Mull for 2 nights in September... We were in the "Duart" room, and it was absolutely fabulous! Spacious, modern, beautiful views, luxurious bathroom, and great location!! The restaurant was closed (unfortunately), as it was Sunday & Monday, but there was a great pub just a 5 minute walk away! We also enjoyed driving up to Tobermory in the north (the exciting one-track roads!!)... Breakfasts were delicious! Fiona & Tony were very pleasant!! We recommend Pennygate Lodge! Had the most wonderful stay at the Pennygate! Our room was incredibly cozy and the breakfast was divine! We also had dinner one night during our stay that was equally as delicious! Highly recommend getting the room with the bathtub, the view is simply stunning!
